Food With Integrity

From Jalapeños To Chilies

While ShopHouse opened in 2011, our story actually goes back to 1993, when Steve Ells founded Chipotle and set out to change food culture for good. For over 20 years, Chipotle has shown that food served fast can be made from delicious ingredients that are sourced responsibly and prepared using classic cooking techniques. In other words, food served fast does not have to be the typical fast food experience.

ShopHouse is a tribute to the inspiring food cultures of Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Singapore.

Along the way, we realized that our commitment to Food With Integrity could extend beyond burritos. ShopHouse builds on our vision for the future of fast food by bringing Chipotle's service format and food philosophy to the vibrant culinary tradition of Southeast Asia.

The food cultures of Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Singapore are eye-opening and inspiring, with a focus on fresh, expertly prepared, and affordable fare that can be eaten every day. We pay tribute to the region's flavors by balancing fresh, responsibly sourced ingredients that take hours to prepare and just seconds to come together in any combination you like.

Where Our Food Comes From

When selecting ingredients, we source the absolute best we can find, and coordinate our supply with Chipotle's to reduce waste and food miles. Whether from Thailand or local to our restaurants, all of the farmers and suppliers we work with operate with respect for people, animals, and the environment.

We source the best ingredients we can find from suppliers that share our passion for high-quality food.

The end result is food that is mostly wheat- and gluten-free (and entirely dairy-free), a selection of meats raised responsibly without antibiotics or added hormones, and a colorful array of market fresh vegetables.

Simply put, we work hard to make sure the food we serve is delicious.

ShopHouse is on a journey to source the highest quality ingredients we can find. As we have learned more about GMOs, we’ve worked toward food offerings that don't contain them.

The vast majority of the ingredients on our menu—like ginger, chilies, beef, green beans, and fish sauce—do not exist in genetically modified form, and are therefore all non-GMO. Of the GMO crops available, only four can be found on the ShopHouse menu: Corn, Soy, Squash, and Papaya. ShopHouse uses non-GMO versions of these ingredients. The only exception is the soy in the phyllo dough in our new Crispy Spring Rolls, but we're working with our suppliers to find an alternative that doesn't contain GMOs.

It is important to note, though, that while the meats we serve come from animals that are not genetically modified, most animal feed in the U.S. is genetically modified. This means that the meats served at ShopHouse are likely to come from animals given at least some GMO feed. In addition, some of the beverages sold in our restaurants contain genetically modified ingredients, especially those containing corn syrup, which is almost always made from GMO corn.

We believe that everyone should be given enough information about where their food comes from and how it was raised to choose for themselves what they feed their families.

As our menu evolves, we'll make sure to keep you posted on what the changes could mean for you.

For now, just sit back and have a bowl. Then have another.
